Coming to 23months....
Hellooooooo, time flies, huh. I thought it was just yesterday when last updated the blog but look, it is almost 5months away!!!!!!!!! And, Chloe is approaching 2years old!!!!!
She is now, 12.5kg.
Back in the 5months which I didn't 'report', Chloe made good progresses.
1) She can now count 1-12 in English,
2) 1-10 in Mandarin when assisted,
3) talk in very short sentences made up of 3-4words
4) improves in vocabulary - mommy has lost count...
5) Calls herself 'Aiwee' and insisted not Chloe
6) Can say ThamKarYee when asked to
7) Run...... started even when she first started walking at 13mth.
8) Brush her teeth and spit out water.... Spitting out water tested my patient as initially the first 2-3months, she swallowed!
9) Dances - side to side
10) Holds a mike and pretend singing
With all the above, there are also some downsides as well.
1) Refuses to eat regular meals. Sometimes she does, sometimes not at all, but just milk
2) Playing with phones - very annoying to me especially if she wants it during meal time - OUTside.
3) Not behaving when we are eating out.

18 months : Genting-Raya getaway and sick!
Daddy wanted to go Cameron Highlands for the long weekend but Mommy was lazy and suggested only Genting, which is so much nearer.
We ended up staying at ChinSwee temple, double bed room. Okla, not bad for that price. (RM110 for peak season and RM50 for off-peak).
Before that, Daddy thought it would be nice to bring Chloe to Bkt Tinggi and she could play with the rabbits, and I the mommy actually have been thinking and picture in my mind that Chloe would be running around the garden chasing after the rabbits. BUT, we were both WRONG!!!
Chloe is afraid of them!!!!! She cling to us all the time and does not want to get down the ground. :(
So to Genting we went and it was then Chloe got sick more after the walk at 1st World. Well, we know she is already have swollen tonsils (again) and would expect fever to strike. So the day before, I brought her to Dr Cheng and prepared all the medicines and not forgetting the very helpful ones which is inserted in the anus to reduce fever. (forgot the name). Daddy is not keen to give that, but i had to convince him for it. Otherwise I will have sleepless nite. Chloe was cranky also, as usual she was all stuck to the bed, refuse to eat and restless. With the cold weather I don't know it actually help or worse. :P But anyway, this round, it was MUCH better than the Aug fever she had. :)
When we return on Saturday, she has recovered much better. :)
And yes, since then, I don't know for some reason her appetite returns and she is taking her usual meals again - the PORRIDGE!!!!
hahaha, yes, when she was 17.5months she refuses Auntie's porridge and auntie had to cook various to suit her. And now during the sick period, auntie return to porridge like anyone would and she took and from then on, she's on porridge again.
I don't know if I should be happy that the fact she is taking her meals back, but it is now again, the porridge.
I prefer her to start taking rice - soft rice. Otherwise she will be soon too lazy to chew on rice.
I already started to notice that. If i give her our normal rice, she will have just a few spoonful, chew for a long time, food stay in the mouth for a long time. If porridge, she just swallow!!!!
I do make her soft rice, quite the same, just a few spoonful. :(

18.5months : Likes the swing
I was surprised that Chloe likes the swing. She actually wanted it herself. Sit on the swing herself.
I still remember months back when she was younger, she didn't cry when we sit on swing with her, but would actually shiver a little when we swing her up and down. :P

Brushing teeth Video - taken at 17-18month
Very proud of this sweet Darling who actually stand still for me to brush her teeth.
She would actually put down her bathroom toys (cup/duckie) on the floor too before i brush her teeth. :)
But, how to rinse ? I'm still teaching her, but she cannot understand how i put in water into my mouth and spit them out..... :)
She's growing up!
I noticed changes to my little darling angel. She is growing!!!
Well guess what, I don't know if she slims down or she actually grew taller. She looks taller now, so some said she slims down because she got taller. But I felt the other way, she slims down because she didn't eat much of carbo lately and she looks taller now because she slims down. hahaha......
Her choices of food nowadays :
1) Raisins!!!!! Bread with raisins will 'tricked' her to munch on the bread as well. :)
2) A little soft rice
3) Dry noodle - stir fry or mix with oyster sauce.
4) Pork/chicken that is TASTEFULLY cooked
5) Broccoli/Spinach where i need to hide them in between foods
6) Scramble egg which is TASTEFULLY cooked. and i cannot mention egg while feeding her. ;P
I am thinking now to add in cereal to her night milk. But I have concerns with the bottle/teats opening. She's currently using Avent's 6months largest hole. Do I need to get a X shape for the cereal ?
At this 19month, I sense she is trying to TALK. Yes, TALK!
Now she is still blabbing her own language, but occasionally she has some understandable words in it. :) not many, but at least now she says MORE MORE when she does her sign language for more.
We asked her to say Ah Mah, Mimi, Dada, Yiyi last nite and she did. :)
She also has her own language where she says ChiBiChiBiChiBi, CCCCC, NouNouNouNou..... ahaha.....
She hops a lot this day. She started off hoping watching Barney at about 14mths but the hop never leave the ground. haha. Now, she can hope from spot to spot, maybe 1ft distance. :)
Oh yes, she does a lot of dancing too. Funnie dancing and we have good time watching her doing it. :)
That's when she listen to
1) Dibo - the gift Dragon theme song : her act - two hands up moving up and downwards and shake her body a little. Sometimes it ended up bending her body sideways too!
2) Mickey mouse clubhouse theme song : her act - byebye action from the hands - swinging left to right, hop, jump and two hands patting her backside. :P
All this is hard to be video-ed. I hope to find chance for this. :)

19months - PICKY eater!
While entering 19th months, Chloe's taste bud switch 180degree. She dislike her porridge/rice and a lot of others that she used to take. Not just this, she is also not taking a lot of new food. Preference are accordingly to her mood. Gosh. And all the while, I have been thinking I'm lucky as she eats a lot and hasn't been picky - not even to a plain porrigde. But now, I'm totally wrong. Even meat cooked tastefully, she spit it out!
So, guess what, I miss her big tummy and her rounded cheek! :(
I wonder if her weight drops now as she is not taking full meals at lunch/dinner but just a spoon or two of some rice/noddle. Even one spoon also considered i'm lucky.

18months now
Chloe entered 18months now but on her way to 18months she had to go thru a period of pain.
On 23/July, she developed swollen tonsils. We checked her out at her usual paed the same night after she had runny nose and mild fever for two days.
Upon returning home that night (after picking up mom from Empire and a dinner), she was still active and playing with AhMa and within 30mins after my bath, I came out from my room to find her lying on the floor.... so restless. We all thought she was just too sleepy as she was also non stop yawning. Daddy and AhMa doesn't look so much concerned but I was worried.
We decided to feed her milk with her medicine added into it. Well, she took and then guess what... 10mins later she vomitted all out. I have never seen her vomitted!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the very first time! (other than the baby time vomit). She was on daddy's arm then. At that time, all i was thinking is HOSPITAL, nothing else. I need medical experts advice on what to do.
However Daddy wasn't thinking so and AhMa said nothing to worry about, as in it's just vomit and fever. Just take medicine.
Anyway 30mins later, Daddy gave in to me and we went to Sunway Medical Emergency ward.
Well, my girl is in pain and I don't want to wait seeing her in such condition. I'm her mother afterall - i can feel her pain!
At the hospital, Chloe was 39.2degC !!! Nurse inserted a anal medicine into her and we were deciding to admit her, or not. I was thinking Yes, since she wasn't eating well, vomitted and high fever. Daddy on the other hand, was saying No. But at the end, it was a no, since her fever came down to 37.4C after about 30mins. The A&E ward costed me only RM75 for the visit.
Back home at almost 2.30am. Everyone was tired and so we slept.
We continued feeding her paracetomol syrups 4-6hourly and boy.... she is pointing her hands and feets and tummy, signing that she wants to go Gymboree that afternoon. Well, yes, her usual class is on Saturday. Although her fever was low, we decided not to go and let her nap that afternoon. She took a 2.5hour nap and when she woke up at almost 5pm, we brought her down to the playground and created a fun time for her. Here are some picx.
We thought she is all better but high fever returned on that Saturday midnight. I jumped up at her every noise she made the whole night thru and the 3rd time, I discovered the fever. My thermometer showed 38.4C. Quickly feed her paracetomol syrup and sponge her with towels. It went down slowly... The next morning, after a small feed, Chloe vomitted on her bed. Poor girl. But I think that is due to empty stomach and wind causes the puke.
(couldn't really recall the 2nd vomit was on Sat morning or Sun morning. :-))
Her fever did not return since Sunday evening! I am very thankful!
So Doc Lam was right. He said on Friday evening that Chloe's fever should go away after 48hours.

Learning talking
Chloe is YET to talk.....
she can say mama, mamamommo.... papa, PO but not spontaneously.
Sometimes Daddy encourages her to speak Nienie... one of the bunnie's name. :)
she did, but ended up just once.
At MIL's, I can hear her shouts that sounded like Giorgio. hahahhaa
When she plays on her own, she does the baby talks....
I am hoping she is able to talk soon so I can understand her better and she doesn't have to be so depress each time we misunderstand her.
She's expressing her needs with her sign language for now.

Weekend breakaway 17July10
It was a planned day trip, anyway. And guess what, it was perfect whether that day!
We woke up at 830am, and Chloe also, per planned. But we were late to get out of the house. :P
Well, daddy most likely say mommy is so slow if you were to ask him why.
We went out for breakfast at 9.30am and it was to a mamak opposite our house.
Chloe likes roti canai so that's her treat, once a week.... :)
about 1015am, we reached auntie's house and started loading. I think we went off to highway near to 11am... ??? didn't notice the clock.
Anyway, the drive journey with Chloe wasn't bad. She was accomodating on her car seat BUT that has to come with FOODS! I have a pack of goodies for her, right below her car seat. She climbed up to look at all of them!!! Anyway, I still call that OK. :P
Within 2 hours of drive, we reached Sekinchan village and we went for lunch at KimKee Restaurant.
Auntie helped cooked Chloe's porridge but she only have half. And the other half time, she spent standing on the chair and look at cats. hehe... oh, i didn't snap any of those photos..... what a waste.
While waiting for food, a villager drag in a dead baby shark passing our table. it's at least 1.5M long!!! Poor shark.....

All above (except the big baby shark) cost us RM50 with balance!!!
The Shark meat porridge for 4 adults is rm14 only. :)
Then we went searching for paddy fields, only to know there is opening burningS at the paddy field, killing the old and making into new soil for the next season.
Well, kinda expected, but there are also some small areas that is green and a little yellow.
After that, we proceeded to the fishing village. It was low tide at 2pm then. We thought the ships will be back by 3-4pm but a villager told us they will not return in these few days because the tides is low for the next few days. Alamak, another loss.
So Chloe only get to see ships that don't move and no catches.
Soon after, Chloe dozed off in the car. hehe, it was after quite long she 'fishes' in her car seat before she finally sleeps. But that was the time when we found a better piece of land with nicer paddy field views!!!!!
Anyway, she only napped a bout 45mins-1hour, and woke up CRANKY.

We left sekinchan about 4pm and went to Kota Melawati, just for a while.
In the evening, by the help of GPS we search for a nearby restaurant at Kuala Selangor for dinner before heading home. Chloe then took rice and yes, she loves it! Rice with tofu and some vege. Got herbal chicken though, but she disliked. :)

Overall, i'm happy plus tired and Chloe is happy. I think i escaped being over-tired because auntie is also around. :)

17months.....
So another month passed.
Chloe now has almost full set of teeth. I think she's still missing the large molar behind, upper and lower and that's all....
During the mid of 16th month, she had a continuous 3weeks, 3-4times a day watery pass motion.
I brought her to Dr Lam twice, the 1st one without medication and the 2nd, I asked for some medicine as couldn't bear seeing the water pass motion anymore.
Doc prescribed Kaolin and Pectin then, but the box instruction is to give to children 6yrs and above. So, I ended up did not give it to Chloe. But she recovered 2 days after it. :P
So, I really relate her watery pass motion to her teething although some docs (most, maybe) says that teething will not cause stomach upset. :P
Since 17 months, she refuses to go Auntie house in the morning. Although she hasn't come to an extend where she does not want to get up the car, she will cry, does not want to get done the car, refuse auntie from carrying her when reaching the house. I HAVE to see her crying for me every morning and left her there. :(
Same thing with Daddy. So i think Chloe now more attached to us.
BUT, funnie thing is, she at some days refused to go home after a day at auntie's house.
I had it once 2-3weeks back when i went over to fetch her, she refuse to go up the car. Daddy had it 2-3 times. :P
But if we go there together, she is OK. :P
And since she had so much teeth now, I tried to start her weekend meals with rice with soup and fish meat. Started on 10/July with MIL's cooking. She took all of them. ;)
Her walking is so much stable now.
However her speech development is still lacking. Still stuck with Mama, Momomm, Papa, Up-Up.....
But she can understands me well.
Oh yes, she knows her body parts well already. For those that i Have taught her since bb times, she can now point them well. Actually, she could point them well few months back. :P
I haven't yet add "Knee", "Nail" into the list yet.
Y'day started to teach her Armpit and Tongue. Need more time for her to absorb.

MOBS PARENTS LOOK A-LIKE CONTEST
I have been looking for one Mother-Child Lookalike photo contest and was not able to do so until at least Mothers' Days passed. In fact I was quite sad that I couldn't, since many of my friend said Chloe looks so much like me (a good Xerox machine!!!)
Here's the photo as proof. :-)

Today, I browsed and here, at MOBS the Parent lookalike contest is open until 19July!!!
So ???? I'm taking part definitely. :)
PARENT NAME : Jasmine Lim
KIDS'S NAME and AGE : Chloe Tham (16months)
The picture was taken when I was reading to Chloe before her bedtime. It's almost a routine for her to have a reading time prior going to sleep - I'm encouraging good habits!
I'm submitting this photo for lookalike contest as I see Chloe resembles a lot of me in this photo itself, the face features and her smiles. :)
Here is the contest page at MOBS :

Contest results announced, Chloe and mommy did not win..... :(

16months.... oh boy.....
Call this mommy lazy, but yes, I have been pretty lazy on updating this blog. Am not sure why... it is not that it isn't interesting watching Chloe grow, but I think.... aih, I am plain lazy la. :)
It has now been 16 months - and two weeks!!! oh boy oh boy.....
What has Chloe achieve from 12-16months ?
Let me try to list them here :
1) Chloe took her 1st step after her 1st birthday. We encouraged her to walk when we are at malls.
We will put her down and say, "Chloe, let go mommy/daddy and walk to daddy/mommy".
She usually will be excited to try it out, though initially she only dared to take 1 small steps and almost fall the 2nd.
The most steps she took (and before i forgotten when she could actually ran!), was 7th steps, on the 7th day of CNY 2010. That was 20Feb2010, at MidValley.
2) She has got more teeth now....
Front - 4 upper and 4 lower.
Molars started to grow - like in end of 14th month / 15month. The one on the bottom right is the biggest to date. Bottom left still not seen. Upper left and right 3/4 out.
The gigi taring also now seen, some white spots. not yet out.
3) She allows me to brush her teeth.
We bought her Oral B kids toothbrush. She' OK with it. Just that she doesn't know how to take in water and spit out. If she does, perhaps drink it. :P
Also brought one similar brush to Auntie's place.... not sure if Auntie cleans for her daily ?
4) Can say mama = mommom and papa = papapapapa...... :P
But it's not consistent. there are a week where she only can say mama... cannot say papa....
and now she can say papa, she cannot say mama. :(
5) Loves Barney! especially Barney Let's go school and Numbers CD.
6) Still pointing to whatever she wants.
7) Drinks from straw
8) Trying to feed herself with spoon - sometimes she made it, but the spoon holding is wrong. :P
9) Eats lots of strawberries
10) likes ahmah's and kongkong's imitation bird at home
11) Able to push minicar on her own
I have taken photosssss............ let me try to upload when I could. :P

Poor Chloe. She is down with running nose, cough and light fever.
She is infected by her daddy's contagious virus. Sigh..... now it seems to be mommy's turn.
Anyway, she is recovering now, just that we celebrated her birthday on the 23rd Jan 2010 and she is not feeling all the better.
I changed her to Enfagrow A+ now. If she can take it, I'll move to this.
The milk taste much better than Mamil/Mamex.

11months 3rd week
Amazing, it's almost her 1st birthday now. How time flies.
This mommy gets buzier and lazier. haha..... can't keep up with the pace Chloe's growing. If you follow the thread, I haven't really been updating.
I'm not even sure IF I jot down anywhere, that I have started bringing Chloe to Gymboree Classes. Started in Early December 09, so that is when she was 10mths plus. I waited till she could crawl before I enrolled her, but in fact she could already move around on her belly, just that I continued waiting.... haha, i'm not sure why now.
At Gymboree, she started with Level 2. We went for Level 3 at first, but she was stunned and not moving. So I brought her to level 2 for a month then now level 3. She's coping very well, and I hope that classes will trigger her to walk faster, and helps her on her motor skills.
Signs up One Year class at RM1750 - Tropicana City.
So, what is her progress for the past 1 month ?
It has been so fast that I can't keep track. I guess she crawled even faster now.
She could stands alone, but dare not take her first step.
Sure enough she could cruise around furnitures by holding on to them.
Lately, she babbles more.
And yes! Her 4th pair of teeth is showing on her lower gum. We saw it on 16Jan2010. :)
On the 17Jan, she finally shows me back 2 signs, which I constantly (but not persistent enough) show her : Sleep and Milk.
It was sooooo adorable when she signs sleep, her head will be tilted right on her palm. VERY cute.
But she only signs, and not too comprehend on what it means, i think.
Because, she could show me numerous Sleep signs, but still playing on the bed till late.
I had stop putting her on walker, only at times when i needed assistant, I put her in it.
I hope this helps her to walk faster, but over at Auntie's, she's still in one. haha.... this mommy is pointless. :D
Well i guess for this month, her screaming decreases..... not as much as the previous month.
Oh yes, she can sign GongXi GongXi.
And she loves Itchy Bitsy Spider sign - which she tries to imitate.
I don't know if i can say Chloe loves reading. These days, she points to her books and wants them.
She would flip and flip and even bring to us and make us read to her.
I got her sleep time storybook, but haven't start reading to her. Would start, after her birthday. :)
For her 1st birthday, I'm finally settling down with just family gathering at her grandparents house. Her Aunties are all invited and I'm asking 2 friends to bring their babies too.
The 2nd round will be in Penang, on the exact date of CNY-2nd day. :)
I hope this will be a good rememberance for all. :)
